The in:vzbl Festival, organized by the Basca Theater, brings five shows from Serbia, Poland, Hungary, and Bulgaria to Timișoara in October and November, created specifically to draw attention to life in rural communities, with all the problems generated by the speed of adaptation to the whirlwind of changes in everyday life.
In addition, interactive performances, forum theater, stories with ecological themes, and social documentaries are included, so that silent voices can be expressed in a safe space, where hidden problems become visible, where individual trauma is transformed into collective healing, and social isolation is diminished.
“We think we are so different from each other, but in essence we are so similar. Sets of emotions, experiences, situations reveal our vulnerabilities. The role of the performances at the in : v z b l Festival is to show us that we are all equally vulnerable. Life becomes easier if we look at each other with more empathy, compassion, and acceptance. Come to the theater to discover how humanity is what connects us,” said Ana Maria Ursu, director, producer, and actress at the Basca Theater.
As part of the festival, two two-week artistic residencies will take place in November, during which two artists from different countries will work together with groups of children and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to create unique performances.
The in : v z b l Festival is a cultural program co-funded by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN) and the European Union through the Theater in 1 car project.
