The Basca Theater is organizing the fifth edition of the in : v z b l festival in Timișoara from September to November 2025.

Keeping with the festival’s established style of making visible what is often invisible in society, the performances presented this autumn address stories of belonging and roots, intergenerational conflicts and social transformations – a complex picture of human vulnerability and resilience in the face of contemporary changes.

Ana-Maria Ursu, actor, director, and manager of the Basca Theater, said: “From one edition to the next, the in : v z b festival has built, step by step, a path toward solidarity and empathy, bringing together Romanian and foreign artists, audiences of all ages, and diverse communities in Timișoara. In 2025, we are keeping the established structure—international shows, national and local productions—and continuing the tradition of artistic residencies dedicated to people from disadvantaged backgrounds.”

“This year, we are opening up to communities with which we have had less interaction so far and bringing a variety of aesthetics to the stage: performances from Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Poland that address sensitive issues in rural areas, each with different tones and forms. The program includes both world premieres, new interactive theater experiences, and established formats and local productions that have already made an impact in the community,” added Ana Maria Ursu.

In October and November the festival will host: Mikser, Serbia, Teatr Tej Ziemi, Poland, Toni Dimov Karabashev Company, Bulgaria, Independent Theatre of Hungary, Trikotaža, Serbia, Apropo Theatre, ARTE 21 Association, Point Hub Cultural and Danijela Zajc, Slovenia.

The in : v z b l festival is a cultural program co-funded by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN) and the European Union through the Theater in 1 car project.
