We are looking for two international artists to spend two weeks in Timisoara, Romania, and have cultural interventions in our city, at the beginning of November 2025.
The two artistic residencies are part of the 5th edition of the in : v z b l festival held in Timișoara this fall and they will culminate with public performances held on 15th and 16th of November.
in : v z b l is a festival that aims to make visible through art what is sometimes “invisible” in society and promotes values such as dialogue, understanding, respect, and solidarity. In addition, the current edition of the in : v z b l festival is dedicated to life in rural communities and bringing to light sources of inspiration, problems, myths, realities, stereotypes, and people from here.
Our team will facilitate access to various invisible communities. In this call, we focus on artists who share and respect the values of Basca Theater and the in : v z b l festival and take them into account in creating and conducting community interventions. We encourage artists from different areas (music, dance, theater, playwriting, film, visual arts) to sign up with ideas that can be implemented in verbal or nonverbal performances. A special attention is given to artists originating from “invisible” communities and those who consider working with vulnerable or elderly people.
The voices of various vulnerable, “invisible” groups are often unheard or even unspoken. Through this festival we want to give these groups a voice and context to self-represent and make this voice stronger in the community. Diversity is an under-exploited wealth. Different cultures and different perspectives on reality are a learning opportunity for all of us, as long as we manage to put at the center of our interactions the values and principles that the festival affirms.

Applications can be sent until September 9, 2025, in a PDF file format to asociatiasolidart@gmail.com containing:
- Portfolio;
- Presentation of the artist mentioning the experience in working with vulnerable communities;
- A paragraph justifying the motivation to participate in the residency;
- A proposal for a community artistic intervention, mentioning the work process, the intended target group and the final result.
We offer artist fee, transport, accommodation and meals.
Shortlisted artists will be invited to online interviews. The two selected artists will be announced by September 15, 2025.
